Asif's take

“Vysagh has been the first designer in the room more than once: at SurveySparrow, at Neeto, and leading design at SILQ. What I admire is that he builds teams as carefully as products. He says his superpower is spotting and lifting other people's strengths, and his career backs that up. Also: breadboarding over wireframing. I've come round to that.”

How we know each other

We overlapped at Quintype in 2018, when Vysagh joined the product design team working on publishing tools for newsrooms. We’ve both spent the years since designing B2B products from the ground up, so we keep ending up in the same conversations.

His work

  • SILQ, 2023 – now. Manager, Design. He joined as lead product designer and led design for both the client app and the internal admin platform of a shipping tool that pulls production data straight from factories. He rebuilt the product’s design language, built its design system from scratch, and shipped the projects and shipments dashboard, auto quoting, and reports and insights.
  • Neeto, 2021 – 2023. The first product designer at Neeto, a family of B2B tools. He set the design strategy across more than ten products under one brand, grew and mentored a five-person design team, and helped launch about six products, including NeetoDesk, NeetoForm, NeetoCal and NeetoChat.
  • SurveySparrow, 2019 – 2021. The first full-time product designer. He designed the survey builder, the end-user survey interface, analytics and reports, and helped build the NPS tool from scratch.
  • Before that: Quintype, and six years as a UI/UX designer at QBurst.

How he thinks

His principles, from his site:

  • Think in products, not features.
  • A good fit for the team is better than someone who is only highly skilled.
  • Make it work, then make it exceptional, or it’s outdated by the time it ships.
  • Breadboarding beats wireframing.
